Tumblr post here, please dont repost, thank

Finally finished an old YCH painting for roothragon!
That poor background went through more colour changes than a panicking chameleon haha . but it's at a state of 'okay' for me now, mostly because I've stared at it for too long :T

Cinnamon the Na'vi-jackrabbit hybrid, scouting out the land, and discovering some very interesting rock formations in a land untouched by civilisation.

I absolutely love this. The background color may have gone through numerous transitions (amusing analogy, by the by), but I think the final result is brilliant! It gives it a very fantastical feel, just as the shapes of the formations themselves do. The formations even further in the back also add to the fantasy feel of it, and I love how they give this piece so much more depth!

I love the water on the (viewer's) right as well, the way it's falling over the rocks and misting as it pools. You did a brilliant job with that, and with making it reflect both color and formation in various places. Brilliantly done there.

The character in the foreground is positively stunning! I love the detail there, with the texture of the fur seeming so realistic. I love the shape of him, and how humanoid he is - the shape of the hands and hips, the way the fur atop the head seems separate from the rest, as though it were human hair - while still maintaining aspects of a leporid with the pattern on the fur and the shape of the feet - and especially the ears! The light blue-white dots along the top of his fur are an excellent touch as well, adding to the feeling of fantasy.

The one thing that bothers me here is the line of the spear in his hand. It may be my eyes playing tricks on me, but the spear appears to be bent slightly from one side of the hand to the other, as though he's gripped it so tightly as to crack it. But I do love the talisman hanging off the end blowing in the breeze, and the way that you also have the leaves blowing to show the motion in the piece.

This is a wonderful piece, and I do thank you for sharing it!
